After the tremendous response we got on our last offer from the little-known producer, Huguet Pinon, we were able to get our hands on some of the 1986 Demi-Sec. Pinon is a small little Domaine established in 1786 northeast of Vouvray in the Valle de Cousse. 1986 is another excellent vintage in the Loire, and this also came highly recommended by a friend that lives in France that tried a bottle. It isn't easy to find back vintages from the Loire, and usually, only the big names are able to keep bottles in the cellar for over 30 years, and they come with a hefty asking price. These are fresh and balanced examples of the 1986 vintage in Vouvray, with high acidity, lovely fruit, focused minerality, and the perfect amount of sweetness. 1986 is understated, and finding wines from this vintage from any producer is near impossible. This is another incredible ready to drink ex-cellar value bottle, and where else are you going to find a wine in perfect condition, drinking great, with over 30 years of age for under $25.
