Kamotsuru Tokusei Gold Daiginjo 180ml

$9.99
Kamotsuru Tokusei Gold Daiginjo 180ml
Kamotsuru is the best buy we have come across for small bottle Sake and we were able to stock up on a few more cases after our last offer. A popular item during the holidays, this has been hard to acquire as of late and is a client favorite for small bottles of Sake. Great for a gift for the holidays or perfect when only a little bit is needed, this is just the right amount for a few "glasses," and while the price is low, the quality is high. This is a great little bottle, and while it can satisfy the more seasoned Sake drinker, it is also the perfect starting point for those eager to try or learn more, and this pricing makes it very easy. This is a Daiginjo, which is a bit more of a drier style that many of our clients enjoy and is a fun little stock stuffer.

Kamotsuru Tokusei Gold Daiginjo is a famous sake in Japan, and thanks to the Netflix documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi, most of us are probably familiar with the 3 Michelin star Sushi restaurant for 11 years running, Jiro Sushi, where Kamotsuru is the only brand of Sake served. This was drunk by the Prime Minister of Japan on his visit to Jiro Sushi, putting it in the modern limelight. However, this Sake has been in production for over 60 years and the Kamotsuru brewery itself for almost 150. If one of the best Sushi restaurants in Japan has this on this list, it can only mean it's the perfect accompaniment to food, adding to the meal, not fighting it, supplying a refreshing, palate-cleansing feel. The Tokusei Gold was first produced in 1958 and was the first Daiginjo grade's Sake to be sold to the public. This is very pure and finishes refreshingly crisp, more so than Junmai Daiginjo due to a different brewing process, which also helps the yeasts dissolve better, providing the finished product with intense, fruity aromatics. Well, balanced and elegant, this pairs well with very fine foods like sashimi and sushi. Each bottle receives two gold flakes in the shape of cherry blossoms, symbolizing cranes that mate for life, and if you get one in your glass, it is considered good luck. This is the perfect little bottle to start a meal, have a few sips during one, and a unique gift idea.
