This is a serious bottle of Bourgogne Rouge that remains true to Thibault Liger-Belair's style. This wine comes from a small estate plot planted planted in 1986, with some purchased grapes from 45 to 90 year old vineyards that are also worked sustainably. The estate vineyard is located in Nuits St Goerge while the purchased fruit is from the villages of Marsannay, Côtes de Nuits, Beaune, Ladoix Serrigny. We had the pleasure of tasting this wine last week. It's a very serious bottle, and among the best examples of Bourgogne Rouge, I have tasted in this vintage. We also did some price negotiations and can offer this a the USA low pricing!
Neal Martin The 2015 Bourgogne Rouge Les Grands Chaillots has quite a high-toned bouquet with red cherries and hints of iodine. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, cohesive and focused with attractive red cherries mixed with cranberry and white pepper towards the finish. I like the build here, more Village Cru level than Bourgogne Rouge. Tasted at Flint Wines' Value Burgundy tasting. (Drink between 2018-2023)
