We have had great success with back vintages of Charles Noellat; even with the village level wines going back to the '80s, they are fantastic and classic examples of red Burgundy. The Gevrey Chambertin 1er Champeaux follows that same path and is an excellent deal for a 20-year-old red Burgundy. These are ex-Domaine bottles and are in perfect condition coming right from their cellar. 2002 is a sneaky good vintage know for its beautiful fruit and impeccable balance. We have been surprised by how well the 2002's are drinking now, and anything comparable to this wine will be well north of $100! This is an excellent way to get your hands on an aged bottle of red Burgundy at its original release price!
