One of the best growers in Champagne with one of the most storied histories among the petite domaines, yet we are still able to offer their workhorse Brut Reserve at such a fair price letting everyone get in on the fun. This is one reason why we love Champagne as much as we do, as such a scenario isn’t possible in Burgundy these days. The Grand Reserve is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir, and 30% Chardonnay from the 2014 & 2015 vintages. A delicious bottle of grower bubbles from a true master, and a don’t miss steal at this price. We were able to procure another 6 cases at this great pricing!
Antonio Galloni 90 pts! (NV Vilmart & Cie Grande Réserve (2016 Base) Sparkling White) Vilmart’s NV Grande Réserve (base 2016) is a very pretty Champagne. Gracious and light on its feet, the Grande Réserve is a wine of real class, not to mention a terrific introduction to the house style. Citrus, green pear and floral notes inform an airy, gracious Champagne that will be ready to drink well upon release. This is an especially fine edition of the Grande Réserve. The current release is based on 2016, with 25% 2015 and 25% 2014 reserve wines. Dosage is 9 grams per liter. Disgorged: June, 2018.
