2022 Domaine Thomas Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot

$99.99
2022 Domaine Thomas Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot

We were able to get a bit more of this after being sold out for a few months. It's an incredible bottle of Morgeot and is Jasper Morris' top-rated Morgeot of the vintage under $100. One of Chassagne Montrachet's most recognizable names, Thomas Morey, carries the torch as part of the 10th generation to make wine under the Morey name. Thomas' Morgeot vines were inherited from his great-grandfather and feature two main plots, Les Brussonnes, planted in 1986, and Les Fairendes, planted in 1964 and 1974. This is a gorgeous premier cru with perfectly ripe orchard fruits, a touch of exoticism, and lovely minerality and tension. This one has incredible potential and many years of life ahead. It is only going to get better with more time in the bottle, but it is approachable now. Thomas Morey's Morgeot is rare, with only a limited amount usually imported. Right now, we have some of the only bottles available in the US, and it's an incredible buy for Morgeot this vintage!

Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy) 94-96 points! "From Fairendes, Petits Clos and the upper part of Brussonnes, so white wine Morgeot territory, and indeed this is a spectacular example. The bouquet indicates a wealth of fruit to come, and so it does, in several waves across the palate. This has layers of fruit waiting to develop over many years to come."
