2023 is the current release from Servin, and this is our first offer of this vintage's Mont de Milieu. As many know now, Sevrvin is one of the top addresses for Chablis values, and these wines tend to be overachievers at much lower pricing than some of their peers. These are some of our best-selling wines in the Chablis category every year, with '23 being a beautiful vintage that can be enjoyed right away if desired. Mont de Milieu is Servin's smallest holding, at only .34 hectares, making it the rarest bottle in the lineup. From 40+ year-old vines located on the same slope and exposure as the Grand Crus of Chablis, Mont de Milieu is a beautiful site that produces rich, riper, full-bodied wines blended with floral and mineral notes and beautiful acidity. This has historically been vinified and aged in stainless steel. Servin decided to age this vintage in a barrel once again, which is something that was started a few years back when faced with smaller yields. The results are fantastic, showing the more focused Chablis character while playing to the more honeyed and richer flavors that Mont de Milieu can possess. Once again, it's one of the top buys for the category, and we have excellent pricing today!
Vinous (Neil Martin) 91-93 points! "The 2023 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru is matured in used barrels. It has a well-defined bouquet with a little more bite and nervosité compared to the Montée de Tonnerre. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity. The sapid finish lingers in the mouth. (Drink between 2025-2040)"
