Bernard Moreau’s Bourgogne Blanc is one of the top values of the 2017 white Burgundy vintage. This wine drinks more like a village Chassagne Montrachet, than a regional wine. The team of Alex Moreau (cellar master), and Benoit Moreau (vineyard manager) is a dynamic duo, and producing in our eyes some of the most classic, age-worthy, white Burgundies made today. Here is a great way to experience their craft for only $30!
John Gilman 89 pts! The Moreau family’s 2017 Bourgogne blanc is a lovely example, wafting from the glass in a mix of pear, apple, chalky soil tones, white flowers and a nice esthery topnote of bee pollen. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, and nicely plump at the core, with fine acids and focus and a long, lifted and succulent finish. I like the inner tension here. Good juice.
