2015 Brooks Pinot Noir Janus

$29.99
2015 Brooks Pinot Noir Janus
We are always on the hunt to discover new producers, and or re-discover old ones. We have worked a little with the Brooks wines in the past tasting them a few years ago at a big Pinot Noir event in Los Angeles. Their 2015 Pinot Noir Janus is one of the best buy we have come across this year. Their Janus bottling is a blend of some barrels of the vineyard designate wines along with some Willamette Valley fruit. Brooks works in their vineyard as a minimum sustainably, but they now have about five wines that come from Bio-dynamically farmed vineyards. The 2015 Brooks Pinot Noir Janus is firing on all cylinders, it has the rich fruit of the vintage coupled with the delicate spot on wine-making. The result is a stunning bottle of Pinot Noir that should drink nicely over the next 5 to 10 years. One of the best buys we have come across for Pinot Noir this year with a nice Vinous score to boot!
Vinous (Josh Raynolds) 93 pts! Brilliant ruby-red. A complex, deeply perfumed bouquet displays fresh cherry, black raspberry and cola scents, and a sexy floral nuance builds as the wine opens up. Sweet and seamless on the palate, showing serious heft as well as energy to intense dark fruit and spicecake flavors with a touch of candied rose. Shows impressive energy and lift on the gently tannic, floral-accented finish, which hangs on with serious tenacity. (Drink between 2021-2027)
