An annual favorite for this bottle is one of the most perfumed, airy, femininely styled pinots that we find in Oregon. It reminded us of a very pretty Chambolle or even Volnay with its elegant red fruits, subtle rose petal aromas, with excellent understated length and tannins that are present but quite fine. This one has found a ton of harmony since being bottled and is starting to show very beautifully in its youth. For all of our clients with Burgundian palates that have become interested in Oregon pinot, this is the type of wine you are after. A personal favorite and a beautiful result in this great vintage.
Our tasting note: Lovely aromatics burst from the glass, with scents of rose petal, cocoa, and red-cherry. Flavors follow, along with threads of cola, green tea, and skin tannins. It’s firm and compact, opening slowly and adding still more details with scents of toasted peanuts. The excellent aging potential here. Drink now through the late 2020s.
