2016 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrieres

$219.99
2016 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrieres

John Gilman 95 pts!  always love Antoine Jobard’s expression of Genevrières and the supremely elegant 2016 is no exception. The gorgeous bouquet offers up a fine combination of passion fruit, pear, a hint of fresh coconut, salty minerality, spring flowers, just a whisper of hazelnut and a gentle base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and utterly refined in personality, with a fine core of fruit, excellent cut and grip and a long, vibrant finish that closes with impressive mineral drive and bounce. Perhaps the elegant terroir of Genevrières reaches its apogee when raised in one wine casks? (Drink between 2020-2045)

Vinous (stephen Tanzer) 91+ points - Pale color. Rather pungent nose combines white peach, lemon, lime, white pepper and herbs. Strong on the attack, then fine-grained in the mid-palate, conveying an impression of weightlessness. A very fresh, mineral-driven Genevrières with the balance for mid-term aging. Finishes tactile and vibrant, with lingering notes of lemon, lime and crushed stone. (harvested with 13.1% potential alcohol) (Drink between 2023-2032)
