2019 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains
One of the top Premier Cru buys of the vintage, the 2019s from Chevillon are exceptional and the source of one of the greatest bottles of Vaucrains from the domaine. We have a limited amount due to arrive in September at this friendly pricing, and it is the best bottle of Vaucrains this vintage from any producer. Highly recommended for fans of this estate, don't miss these last bottles!

We have a limited amount of 2019 Vaucrains from Chevillon, who arguably makes the best example of the vineyard. Considered one of the top producers in Nuit St. George, Chevillon makes some of the most excellent Premier Crus in all of Burgundy. These have long been a staple for the Burgundy lover, and many can attest to how great these wines are with cellar time. 2019 is an excellent vintage for Burgundy and the source of one of the top vintages ever from Chevillon, with one of the best examples of Vaucrains of all time. Sourced from nearly 80-year-old vines, Vaucrains is the oldest holding Chevillon located just above Les Saint Georges and Les Cailles, planted on textbook clay and limestone soil. 2019 is a beautiful vintage for Vaucrains, showing incredible finesse, refinement, and complexity, and is not a vintage to miss for fans of this classic NSG address and, once again, one of the top wines from Chevillon.

Burghound 94 pts! "A brooding and reticent nose possesses moderately deeply pitched aromas of plum and red and black cherry liqueur laced with plenty of spice, earth and humus influences. The broad-shouldered, powerful and overtly muscular flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the very firm tannic spine shaping the hugely long and remarkably complex finale. As is usually the case, this is no model of refinement, but it is a genuine 'wow' wine, provided you have the wherewithal to cellar it for the 20+ years it's going to need. Even if you don't, it's still a most impressive force of nature! "

Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 93-95+ points! "The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains opens in the glass with notes of plums, dark berry fruit and cassis mingled with aromas of espresso roast, dark chocolate, rich soil tones and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, it's built around chalky tannins and lively acids. As usual, this is the most overtly built for the long haul of all Chevillon's wines, and it will require the most patience."

Vinous (Neil Martin) 93-95 points! "The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru, which was the final Premier Cru poured by Chevillon, has a very harmonious, feminine bouquet of pure morello cherry mixed with blueberry and crushed limestone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, demonstrating a little more linearity than the Les Saint-Georges, though there is a tad more oak to be subsumed on the finish at the moment. Still, this typifies the quality of Vaucrains and it should age well over the next 20–25 years."
