As we have mentioned a few times before, the 2019 Beaune premier crus from Jadot are excellent. Across the board, they were all fantastic buys, but most are long gone. However, we still have a few cases of the Boucherottes available, which is the most approachable out of the Crus this vintage. Boucherottes is located at the southern end of the Beaune appellation Close to Pommard, sharing a border with Les Clos des Mouches and Les Epenots. Usually a showing of power from vines planted on deep marl and silt, it's surprisingly elegant this vintage, and while it didn't have the depth that some of the other Crus do, it is a delightful and precise wine that will do well through the medium term. An excellent red burgundy buy for those looking to enjoy the 2019s without it being a colossal cellar project, and right now, we have a limited amount left in stock at this U.S. Low pricing.
Allen Meadows 90-92 points! "Reserved aromas include those of the perfumed essence of red cherry, sandalwood and spiced tea hints. There is again fine volume to the caressing, delicious and vibrant flavors that display fine length though not nearly the same depth, at least not yet, on the moderately structured and well-balanced finale."
Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 90-92 points! "The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Boucherottes (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) was showing especially well, mingling aromas of raspberries and plums with hints of rose hips, raw cocoa and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it's bright and precise, with a charming, seamless profile."
