We love the wines from Domaine Gramenon one of the few natural wine producers that really spins our heads around. This is from young vine grenache (30 year old vines) made naturally, and bottled and released early to preserve freshness. The vines are farmed bio-dynamically , hand harvested, native yeasts are used, and the wine is aged and fermented in old oak vats , then transferred to neutral oak barrels. There is an incredible brightness and elegance to this wine very different than the over ripe cloying wines that can come from the grenache grape. The wine has aromas of wild raspberry, cherry , soil tones ,violets , and garrigue. The palate is fresh, and very expressive with notes of plum, cherry saline, minerals , earth, and a lovely spice note. An absolutely gorgeous wine and a pleasure to drink now over the next couple years.
