We have some exceptional pricing for this incredible bottle of bubbles. On par with 2008, we recently tried the 2012 and were blown away. A small producer located the village of Ville-Sur-Arce, in the Aube, the same area as Cedric Bouchard, Marie Courtin, and other greats call home. They are excellent farming practices, part of the Special Club, and go about making substantial bubbles at undervalued prices. Working traditionally, they don't rush their wines out the door, and like 2008 it's nice to have a current release from 2012 while many other producers are offering 16s now. A standard blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, a fantastic year priced at a non-vintage level. The delivery of this wine is seamless with some up-front apple laying over lime zest, greenstone fruits, and a 'leesy' brioche with chalky minerality. The palate explodes with velvet-like mouthfeel, a slightly creamy richness, and citrus excellently balanced. The roaring acidity doesn't let up through the duration of the powerfully long finish that ends on an iron/mineral note with tons of dry extract as the wine opens up. Utterly fantastic bottle for the price, top quality house bubbles if we've ever seen them, and a testament to the Remy Massin and the Aube.
