This Agrapart’s entry level Champagne has always impressed us, but we seldomly seem to offer it. A blend of 90 % Chardonnay 10% Pinot Noir, the base vintage is 2016, and the dosage comes in right around 7 g/l. Pascal Agrapart has some of the oldest vines in the cote de blanc with an average age of over 60 years. He also has been working his vineyards organically for several years. The 7 Crus comes from seven villages around Avize, it comprised of grand cru and premier cru Chardonnay vineyards. It’s is a racy mineral driven Champagne with the ability to age a decade or more. Galloni gave a very nice note to last years version below, and we think this Champagne is right up there with it!
Last years release review by Antonio Galloni 93 pts! Agrapart's NV Brut 7 Crus is simply gorgeous. Rich, creamy and inviting, the 7 Crus hits all the right notes. The 7 Crus doesn't quite have the focus or energy of the top wines here, but it is incredibly delicious, approachable and relatively easy to find. This may very well be the finest release of the 7 Crus I have ever tasted since this cuvée debuted a few years ago. The 7 Crus is 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir. This release is equal parts 2015 and 2014. Don't miss it! Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: May 2018.
