We have a limited of this excellent half-priced deal from Colene Clemens available. A beautiful value for domestic Pinot Noir, this is a great everyday wine and is one of the best vintages of Margo they have made. One to enjoy now and over the next few years, this has appeal for both the new and old-world palates and is a no-brainer at this closeout pricing.
Another fantastic closeout from Colene Clemens, our last two offers were big hits, selling out quickly, and this is another great, half-priced buy. Colene Clemens is located where the Chehalem Mountains converge with Ribbon Ridge, and the beautiful 122-acre property was planted in 2006. The vineyard elevation spans from 350 to 650 feet, with south-facing vineyards planted on soils of sedimentary and volcanic rock. The vines are sustainably dry-farmed, with most of the vineyards being organic. They also do a lot of crop management to keep the yields low since they are trying to harvest the best physiologically ripe fruit they can while still showing some classic restraint. In the cellar, it's a pretty straightforward approach letting gravity move the wines, keeping the wines on the healthy lees as long as possible using a reasonable combination of new and older oak for aging. It also helps that the winemaker is Stephen Goff, who was the previous assistant winemaker at Beaux Feres. Margo is a selection of different vineyard blocks and barrels designed to be beautiful and delicious any day any time in Pinot Noir, and at this closeout pricing, it is a great buy.
James Suckling 93 pts! "A rich, polished nose of baked blueberries, cassis, vanilla and chocolate orange. It’s medium-to full-bodied with ripe, velvety tannins. Plush and flavorful. Drink now or hold."
Vinous (Josh Raynolds) 92 pts! "Glistening ruby-red. Lively and focused on the nose, displaying fresh red fruit and floral scents and a touch of peppery spice. Sappy, gently sweet cherry and raspberry flavors put on weight and stretch out slowly with air. The long, spice-laced finish is framed by steadily building tannins and leaves a hint of bitter cherry behind. All de-stemmed fruit and 22% new French oak. (Drink between 2023 - 2031)"
