An outstanding buy for the category and vintage, this is a fantastic Bourgogne Blanc from J.M. Boillot. A delicious example that leans more toward the classic style of Burgundy, few Bourgogne Blancs are available at this pricing nowadays, with many of the favorites over $50 a bottle. We have a limited amount left after nearly selling out, so this is the last chance to grab one of these bottles, which would be perfect for the Holidays.
As many of you know, 2021 was a very short vintage due to frost damage in the spring. However, the grapes that were left on the vines turned out to be quite exceptional and, coupled with a cooler vintage, resulted in some classic wines. Jean-Marc Boillot is an excellent example of this classic style at the Bourgogne level, and after tasting it the other day, we were impressed. The wine has incredible aromatics for a white Burgundy of this price range, excellent depth, and a lovely lingering finish. A beautiful and pure wine sourced from younger Domaine holdings, it is the perfect introduction to the style of JM Boillot. Made with Hand-harvested grapes that are pressed pneumatically before alcoholic fermentation and racking on the lees. The wine then goes through malolactic fermentation before aging in 30% new oak for 11 months. For the money, it is one of the best buys of the vintage and is one to enjoy over the next two to three years. We have a limited amount in stock, so grab a few before they are gone!
