1985 Domaine Rolet Pinot Noir Arbois Magnum (1.5L) [Pre-Arrival]

$99.99
1985 Domaine Rolet Pinot Noir Arbois Magnum (1.5L) [Pre-Arrival]
Here is the final offer of Rolet, and we saved the best for last. Here is a little recap on these wines have no exposure here in the USA, and even current vintages are impossible to find. Rolet was initially founded in the 40s by Deserie Rolet, who was later joined by his children, acquiring a few excellent holdings in Arbois and Cote du Jura along the way. Though the Domaine is run by three different families now, this 1985 Pinot would have been made by the original Rolet family. Like many of the great producers in the Jura, farming is the primary interest, and Rolet has been utilizing organic and sustainable techniques since the beginning. Rolet's red's wines have sensational minerality and structure, and I imagine on release that this too was probably so wound up that it needed three decades to come around. 1985 is a great vintage in France, and we have had great bottles of '85 from many regions, mostly Burgundy, and as we have mentioned before, getting something with this much age from the Jura is usually reserved for Vin Jaune. We even had a few clients that knew the Domaine stating the 1985 vintage was great, asking if we could get any more, so we did. Chances like this don't come every day, and to be able to get a bottle of classically styled Pinot Noir that was just released by the Domaine and is drinking magnificently, is a planet-aligning moment. A serious vintage and a serious bottle that should be on the Burgundy lover radar, and for those that missed out before, we were able to get a bit more bottles of the 1990 Pinot Noir and 1985 Trousseau just email and ask!
