We met with the export manager of Domaines Delon, owners of famed estates including Clos du Marquis, Chateau Potensac, and Leoville Las Cases. This is the best price quality Chateau of the lineup we had and is a really impressive bottle of Pomerol. The extra work in the vineyards and the cellar is apparent here. There is a very sturdy structure in these wines and could easily live for another 10-15 years.
John Gilman 91+ points! "The 2008 Château Nénin is another really lovely example of the vintage, but it still has a bit of oak spice on the backend that will need to be integrated before its starts to drink as well as its second label- Fugue de Nénin. The bouquet is deep, complex and very classy, as it wafts from the glass in a blend of black cherries, black plums, tobacco smoke, complex soil tones, dried violets, coffee and spicy new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and still quite young and unevolved, with a fine core of fruit, beautiful balance and a very long, chewy and nicely focused finish. All this will need is a bit of patience to let the oak settle more fully into the body of the wine. It will be a very lovely example of the vintage."
