It has been a very long time since we have offered a Champagne from Cristian Senez, the last time would have been 1996 brut, and while we have contributed quite a bit of 2008 Champagnes to people's cellars, but looking back, we seem to be a little light on 2008 Rose. Here is an answer to that from this Cote de Bar producer. This rose is made using the Rose de Saignee method and is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. Complex with red fruits of cherry, strawberry, and currant, with notes of fig and licorice in the back, followed but a slight chalkiness and floral perfume. Millesime rose is not a cheap date, but this is one of the bests values out there right now, especially from a vintage like 2008.
