We found a limited amount of some very rare ex-cellar magnums of this Cuvee, which are some of the only magnums of the 2008 Amour de Deutz Blanc de Blancs available in the world right now. As many know, 2008 was an excellent Champagne vintage and one of the best for this Cuvee. Deutz sources their Chardonnay from the excellent Cote de Blancs villages of Avize, Mesnil sur Oger, Chouilly, and Oger. While the Cuvee William is the official tete de cuvee from Deutz, the Amour de Deutz could be considered a second one and is consistently on par in quality. Amour de Deutz is often an overlooked Cuvee but competes with some of the top Blanc de Blancs Cuvee in Champagne. Incredibly detailed, complex, and precise, this should drink above the Decanter score out of Magnum and is perfect for those that love top-notch and rare bubbles. We have a limited amount of Magnums at excellent pricing with no markup like bigger bottles usually have.
Decanter 97 points! "Amour was created by Deutz’s long-standing managing director, Fabrice Rosset. It's a prestige blanc de blancs which is only made in the best years, so there was little surprise when Deutz produced an Amour from the highly acclaimed 2008 vintage. This really has it all: freshness, extract, power, balance and concentration. Already, the primary nose shows chamomile and iris, while the palate is crammed with white fruits, nougat, chamomile, candied fruit and minerals. Deutz’s signature spine-tingling acidity balances out the weight and creamy texture of this generous, well structured fizz. It's fabulous as an aperitif now but it will also develop well into old age as a gastronomic wine with delicate seafood dishes. 40,000 bottles produced."
