2008 Louis de Sacy Champagne Grand Soir

$69.99
2008 Louis de Sacy Champagne Grand Soir

Having lived in Verzy since 1633, the Sacy family has maintained traditional values and honed their practices year after year to create truly remarkable and elegant champagne. Today, Alain Sacy cultivates 75 acres of grapes to produce high quality Reims champagne. Their land is composed of chalky subsoil, traditionally seen in Champagne and the Grand Soir is produced with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. The wine is carefully aged for up to 6 years and disgorged just before leaving the winery to ensure as much lees contact as possible. The carbonation of this Champagne is on the lower side, which really allows you to taste the fruit, and it really reminds us  of a great Chablis with bubbles.

Tasting Notes: On the nose, the wine starts with notes of white flower, pears, apples and a bit of baked fruit. The palate opens to beautiful flavors of green and yellow apple, lemon spritz and a delicate brioche and vanilla to finish.  The wine has exceptionally light and fine carbonation and a balanced and well-rounded finish.

It’s the perfect Champagne to sip alone or enjoy with a light aperitif.
