We have a few magnums left of the 2009 Amour de Deutz, which is a recently disgorged release from Deutz—made exclusively from Chardonnay with 51% sourced from Avize, 44% from Mesnil-sur-Oger, and 5% from Villers-Marmery. One of our favorite Tete de Cuvee's and a bottle doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. In magnum, this is decidedly fresher, should age for longer than 750ml, and is an ultimately better format for Champagne, which should drink above Galloni's score. This is a rare magnum here in the USA, and we have the only bottles which are scheduled to arrive next week, so grab one before they are gone!

"The 2009 Brut Millésimé Amour de Deutz is laced with white flowers, mint, white pepper and citrus peel, all of which give it terrific brightness and energy to play off the natural radiance of the year. Medium in body and aromatically deep, the 2009 has enough verve to develop nicely in bottle for many years to come. Overall, this is a relatively airy, understated Champagne for a year that generally produced more overt wines."
