We were able to get some older bottles of Domaine Charvin from the 2009 vintage in perfect condition. As we said in our last Charvin offer, we love the Grenache dominant wines from this Domaine. Powerful yet elegant, brimming with energy from its 100% whole cluster infusion, this wine tends to be more elegant, lower in alcohol, and more refined than most of its peers and is a display of how good Chateauneuf du Pape should be made. The lower alcohol and impeccable balance really help the wine age magnificently, and we have older examples that were surprisingly Burgundian in style though still very much CDP. 2009 is a beautiful example of Charvin with age, and while 2009 was a more powerful vintage, this remains energetic and balanced. This is showing beautifully now and is ready to enjoy and should continue to show well for a few more years. We have low pricing on a few bottles in perfect condition arriving in Q2 2023 and is a beautiful Chateauneuf du Pape from Charvin.

A dense dark ruby color is followed by a sexy nose of raspberries, ground pepper, spice box, damp earth, kirsch and dark currants. Full-bodied, complex, elegant and already irresistible as the tannins have completely melted away, it can be drunk now and over the next 15+ years."
