2010 Joseph Drouhin Pommard Rugiens

$109.99
John Gilman 93+ The 2010 Drouhin Pommard “Rugiens” hails from the upper section of this vineyard and is absolutely superb in this vintage. The deep, complex and utterly classic nose soars from the glass in a blaze of red and black cherries, coffee bean, fresh herb tones, a touch of dark chocolate, venison, vinesmoke, and a great base of soil. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with suave, but substantial tannins, tangy acids, impeccable balance and excellent focus and grip on the very long, soil-driven and classy finish. Has there ever been a better-mannered vintage than 2010 for young Pommards? (Drink between 2020 - 2060)
