The bouquet here is a bit more reserved than most of the premier crus in the cellar, but is very, very deep and transparent in its red fruity aromatic constellation of red plums, cherries, a touch of blood orange, cocoa, nutskin, gamebird, violets and a kaleidoscopic base of minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and quite tightly-knit, with a rock solid core of sappy fruit, great length and grip, ripe tannins and a very, very long, transparent and youthful finish. This will be a great Clos des Chênes. (Drink between 2025 - 2075)
