2012 Pierre Moncuit Champagne Cuvée Millesimee Extra Brut

$59.99
2012 Pierre Moncuit Champagne Cuvée Millesimee Extra Brut

The 2012 Brut Millesimee from Pierre Moncuit has just been released, and it should be one of the best examples of this Cuvee of all time. We loved the 2008, which was also a favorite among our Champagne-loving clients, and once again, winemaker Nicole Moncuit has chosen to make two examples of the same vintage, one as Brut and one as Extra Brut. As we said with the 2008, the Extra Brut, with its lower dosage, is the preferred bottling with slightly better transparency of fruit and minerality and is overall a bit more sophisticated. 2012 should be a magnificently energetic and fresh vintage for this Cuvee, which should be an unbelievable pairing with the extra time on the lees. Made with 100% all grand cru Chardonnay sourced from the Moncuit hometown of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, this was recently disgorged after almost a decade on the lees, and seeing how Nicole Moncuit is able to capture the vintage so well every year, this should be sensational and one of the best buys for 2012 currently still available. We have the only bottles of this new release available in the USA, and for Champagne fans, this is not a bottle to miss from Pierre Moncuit.
