2013 Donnhoff Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spatlese$39.99
It's always fun when we can offer a great producer’s wine with a little age on it. We latched on to a few cases of the 2013 Donhoff Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese, which is drinking perfectly right now. A great bottle that showcases the place it's grown from with the racy acidity Riesling can bring. This wine has some nice cellar tracker press, and we are one of a handful of retailers that even carry this wine.
John Gilman 92+ pts! The 2013 Kirschheck Spätlese is the fiftieth anniversary for these vines, and the wine has turned out beautifully this year, with the typically ethereal personality of this bottling very much to the fore. The delicate and refined nose delivers scents of pear, white cherries, slate, bee pollen, fruit blossoms and lemon zest. On the palate the wine is medium-full, bright, pure and focused, with good depth in the mid-palate, lovely filigree and a long, focused and dancing finish. Tout en finesse. (Drink between 2014-2035)
