2013 San Giusto a Rentennano La Ricolma Toscana IGT

$89.99
2013 San Giusto a Rentennano La Ricolma Toscana IGT

The San Giusto La Ricolma is 100% Merlot, and is a selection of the best parcels of their vineyards. The vines are farmed organically, and only native yeasts are employed. The yields tend be very low that go into this wine because of strict pruning methods. The wines are aged in 40% new French oak for 22 months then bottle un-fined, and un filtered. This wine will rival the great Bordeaux produced in St Emilion, and Pomerol. As Galloni states at the time of tasting this was one of the greatest La Ricolmas he had tasted since their first vintage of this wine in 2003.

We are happy to offer this great bottle at by far USA low pricing!

Antonio Galloni 97 points! The 2013 La Ricolma is another superb wine from San Giusto. For years, Luca Martini has worked to prune his vines so that the Merlot would ripen late, in October, taking significant risks along the way to do so. For the first time, Martini got what he wanted in 2013. And the result is a spectacular Ricolma. Succulent black cherry, plum, mocha, spice, leather and dark spices are fused together. This is one of the most complete, unctuous Ricolmas I have ever tasted. Nothing is out of place. The 2013 is a stunningly beautiful Ricolma to treasure over the next two decades or so. The 2013 is one of the finest - perhaps the finest - young Ricolma I have ever tasted. Luca Martini di Cigala raised the 2013 in French oak barrels, 40% of which were new. (Drink between 2020-2035)
