2014 Chateau Tour de Marbuzet (Saint-Estephe)

$29.99
2014 Chateau Tour de Marbuzet (Saint-Estephe)
A Fantastic wine from Chateau Haut Marbuzet is not the second wine or second label of their Grand Vin but a completely different wine sourced from a parcel around the Marbuzet "Turret" that is in one of the vineyards. The blend here is 40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc from vines around 25+ years old. We love this Chateau style, which explores the more elegant side of Saint-Estephe, a lot of which has to do with the large percentage of Merlot in the blend. 2014 is a sleeper vintage, and this bottle is a show stopper, slightly more forward in style than the normal bottling of Haut Marbuzet with a great sense of place and beautiful fruit, making it easy to enjoy now but has the structure for a decade of aging. Aromas of cassis, spice, pencil led, minerals, and game explodes from the glass setting up the palate, balanced with some tannin on the finish but refined and buried in the fruit. The Chateau Tour de Marbuzet is an exquisite wine and one of the best we have tasted in this price range recently, showing more complexity and depth than the norm. The only bummer is quantity is very limited, so get your order in while you can!
