2014 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir 375ml
Wine Advocate (Neil Martin) 95 points! "Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting the 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir by Louis Michel has a detailed, oyster shell and flint-scented bouquet that is very engaging, drawing you in to discover its nuances. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, a little spicy on the second half with just a pinch of white pepper and leading to a very harmonious finish that feels persistent. This is what you might call a cerebral Chablis, yet one that does not forget that its first and most important role is to give us drinking pleasure. Bon vin."

Decanter 95 points! "Slightly smoky nose with delicate white fruit, a tight structure and mineral finish. Not austere but needs time and will reward those who are patient."

John Gilman 94+ points! "The 2014 Vaudésir from Domaine Michel is utterly classic, offering up a deep and properly reserved bouquet of green apple, pink grapefruit, a very complex base of limestone minerality, beeswax and spring flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, long and very racy in personality, with a fine core, lovely cut and grip and exceptional focus and balance on the very long finish. This is just a tad deeper and a longer than the superb Montée de Tonnerre this year, though the top Domaine Michel premier cru this year is clearly of grand cru quality as well."
