2015 La Vedetta Langhe Nebbiolo
In stock !
The Viglio family had been grape growers in the Barbaresco region for a couple generations and sold all their fruit to other producers over this period. Marco who was in business management asked his parents if he could start making wine with their grapes. His parents agreed so he went to viniculture school and started making the wines. The 2015 vintage for the Piedmont region is a very pretty, refined, and elegant vintage which fairs well with the classic style of this producer. Marco Viglino works his vineyards organically, this wine is fermented and aged in 50% in tank and 50% in large old barrels. Their 2015 Langhe Nebbiolo is a beauty that delivers aromas of rose petals, red cherry, red plum, graphite and spice with incredible minerality. The palate is classic Nebbiolo with elegance and power. The wine has some youthful astringency so drinking this with food would be recommended, or cellar it a year or two. This truly reminds us of a mini Barbaresco, a very serious bottle for the price!
