2015 Domaine Alain Michelot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains 375 mL
John Gilman 93 points (rated Nov/Dec 2016) -  The 2015 Vaucrains from Domaine Michelot is a touch riper than some of these other premier crus, but this is more along the lines of 1982 Bordeaux and it does possess excellent structure, soil signature and never seems to stray over the line into notes of sur maturité. The buxom nose wafts from the glass in a mix of baked black cherries and cassis, dark chocolate, roasted venison, a fine base of soil and a topnote of bonfires. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied and quite powerful in profile, with a rock solid core, fine length and grip and a chewy, well-balanced and seriously structured finish. This will take at least a decade to blossom, but it should prove to be excellent. (Drink between 2025-2065)
