While there is no denying that the 2014 was a great bottle, the 2015 version is a huge surprise. One of the top Grand Cru sites in Chablis, Jean & Sebastien Dauvissat's Preuses is one of the only wines he ferments in barrel, an hommage to the traditional Chablis style seeing about 25% new oak. This is more classic than the 2014 version, with a level of purity and focus that is beyond this price point. Grand cru weight and extraordinary mineral expression this is beginning to show beautifully. This is as good as any Preuses in 2015, just a point behind Sebastien's relative Vincent Dauvissat in Galloni's review and equalling William Fevre's version at fractions of the pricing. As Galloni mentions below, this is textbook Preuses, and 2015 is a prime example of why we love the wines from Jean & Sebastien Dauvissat as a classic source for great Chablis. An excellent price for Grand cru Chablis with age, we have some of the only bottles available in the USA right now, and at very low pricing, this is not a bottle to miss.
Antonio Galloni 94 points! "The 2015 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru is bright, precise and crystalline - in other words, a classic expression of this great grand cru. White flowers, crushed rocks, mint and slate all run through this super-expressive, nuanced Chablis from Dauvissat. Even in this warm, radiant vintage, the personality of Preuses comes through loud and clear - and that is perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay to this wine."
