A rare bottling from Jadot, the Sentiers isn't one of the common Chambolle crus from this address and only makes it to the US in small quantities. It's nice to get a cru like this with a bit of age, and being from a lovely vintage like 2015 is just a bonus. Sentiers is a unique terroir at the north of Chambolle near some great vineyards like Les Baudes and the grand cru Bonnes Mares, while also butting right up to the border of Morey st. Denis. More often than not, these vineyards that lie in the transition areas from one village to the next, in this case, the Chambolle-Musigny and Morey St. Denis, are fascinating. It is always interesting to see where the wine draws from, and here it shows the elegance and finesse of Chambolle with the power and weight of Morey St. Denis. A very structured wine from a classic vintage, this could be enjoyed now and spend another decade in the cellar. These bottles are ex-cellar from Louis Jadot, and at the moment, we have the only bottles of the 2015 vintage available in the USA.
Allen Meadows 91-93 points! "A more deeply pitched and well-layered array features aromas of dark fruit, spice, red currant and plenty of warm earth influence. The supple, round and relatively forward flavors possess a pliant mid-palate that contrasts markedly with the muscular and mineral-inflected finish that is shaped by medium firm tannins. As is usually the case, this is a highly complex Chambolle of muscle and punch though it's by no means rustic."
