2015 Louis Roederer Champagne Vintage Brut Rosé 375ml

$44.99
2015 Louis Roederer Champagne Vintage Brut Rosé 375ml
After receiving excellent feedback from clients loving the 2015 Roederer Rose, we were able to get more of this fantastic effort, but this time in a fun half-bottle format. 2015 is one of the best examples of the Roederer Rose off the release we have tried. We've enjoyed a few bottles of this already, and it is a pleasure to drink with its excellent richness and energy. A beautiful bottle of Rose bubbles comes highly recommended, and this half bottle size is another way to enjoy when a whole bottle isn't required.

We've often advocated that the vintage Champagnes from Roederer are exceptional and are some of the best buys when considering Grand Marque Champagne. They have managed to do it again, and 2015 is an excellent example of their much-loved Rose.
The Rose comprises 35 different sites from what Roederer calls the "La Rivière" vineyards located in the villages of Cumieres and Chouilly. The Vintage Rose is a snapshot of the 2015 sourcing Pinot Noir from warmer Cumieres Terroirs and Chardonnay from the cooler, limestone-based sites in Chouilly. The final blend for 2015 is 62% Pinot Noir and 38% Chardonnay, with 11% vinified in oak barrels for extra complexity and only 30% going through malolactic fermentation to not accentuate the richness of the vintage too far.
2015 started very warm in Champagne. That ripeness clearly translates to the glass but not in an over-the-top fashion; on the contrary, it remains balanced and fresh with excellent energy and complexity. The latter half of the growing season brought forth some much-needed rain, ultimately yielding very concentrated fruit, which Roederer captured perfectly in the bottle.
Hedonistic in style, this is a bottle of bubbles with incredible depth and complexity of delicate red fruits, orange zest, and a palate-staining finish. While the grandiosity doesn't go unnoticed, this Champagne has beautiful elegance, and we wouldn't expect anything less from Roederer. Able to please the most discriminating Champagne connoisseur, 2015 is one of the best young examples of Louis Roederer Rose we have tasted. Thanks to the generosity of the vintage, it can be enjoyed now or cellared to develop further. The Louis Roederer proves again that their vintage cuvees are overachievers and some of the best buys for Champagne in today's market. These are typically limitedly allocated, and we only have a few cases available so claim one before they are gone!

Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 94 pts! "The 2015 Brut Vintage Rosé is generous and demonstrative, bursting with aromas of peach, orange and pear mingled with hints of red berries, fresh bread and ginger. Full-bodied, layered and vinous, it's rich and enveloping, its textural attack segueing into an ample, fleshy core that's girdled by bright acids and enlivened by a pillowy mousse. Long and expansive, it's more generous and gourmand than its racier 2014 predecessor, but just as good."

John Gilman 93 pts! "The 2015 vintage of Louis Roederer Rosé is an outstanding wine in the making. The refined and youthful bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of strawberries, tangerine, a touch of blood orange, rye bread, chalky minerality, lovely spice tones and a nice touch of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and nascently complex, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent mineral drive, utterly refined mousse, bouncy acids and a long, seamlessly balanced and vibrant finish. This is approachable out of the blocks, but it is still a young wine and I would opt for tucking it away in the cellar for at least another five years before drinking it in earnest. (Drink between 2026 - 2055)"
