We have been waiting for the first releases of the stellar 2015 Brunello di Montalcino vintage. Livio Sassetti is considered by some to be the best producer of the region. The wines here seem to be great every vintage, the 2010 was a block buster, the 2013 was very very good, and now the 2015 looks to be extraordinary! 2015 seems to be the perfect vintage offering up wines with beautiful fruit, balance, structure, length, and the vineyard signature. Now with Bordeaux, and Burgundy becoming even more expensive, great Brunelli seems like the perfect replacement.

James Suckling 98 pts! "There’s something ethereal in the nose with flowers, cherries, strawberries and shitake mushrooms. Full body. This grows on the palate with super tannin and fruit structure. So much berry flavor and round, caressing tannins that fill your mouth. Tight at the end. This needs four to five years to show its true greatness. Try after 2023."
