2016 Chateau La Croix de Pez (St. Estephe)

$19.99
2016 Chateau La Croix de Pez (St. Estephe)

We are leaving no stones un-turned looking for great wines at great prices. The 2016 Chateau La Croix de Peze is one of those wines. From the commune of St Estephe, this wine has a lot going on for a sub $20 price point. This wine is a blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 60% Merlot, 5% Cabernet franc. The vines here are farmed sustainably, and minimal intervention is used in the wine-making process. The gorgeous fruit of the vintage paired with the classic structure of this vineyard has made the perfect pairing for a great value Bordeaux. Los of cassis, minerals, spice, lend pencil shavings jump from her glass. The palate is generous and structured with some tannins, so aeration is recommended. The example we tasted over four days was at its best day three, so a few years of age will reap huge benefits with this wine. There are gorgeous red and black fruits on the palate with incredible minerality, and tons of dry extract. This is a fantastic red Bordeaux that needs a few more years in the bottle to blossom. This Bordeaux is an incredible value as well that can stand up to other Bordeaux at twice the price. This is a highly recommended cellar saver for European or Domestic red wine lovers!
