Initially a $70 bottle, Like some of the other Galerie wines we have offered, Latro is an excellent value made with European flair from the ex-assistant winemaker from Lokoya. A follow-up to our magnum offer that quickly sold out earlier this week is equally great in 750ml, and we have a few cases remaining of this top their deal for California Cabernet. This is a fabulous bottle for the holidays that is showing very well right now and will continue to develop beautifully over the next decade or more.

. This wine was a special project for Laura Diaz-Munoz, former assistant winemaker at Lokoya Winery. This is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Kellogg Estate and Knights Bridge Estate vineyards in Knights Valley. The wines in made in a very European style and reminds us of great Bordeaux. This was normally a $65 to $70 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, but because Laura Diaz-Munoz left Lokoya the winery decided to liquate all the wines she had made. For us this is about as good as California Cabernet Sauvignon can be for the money.
Jeb Dunnuck 95+ points! "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Latro is in the same ballpark yet has more savory characteristics as well as plenty of conifer, California bay leaf, currants, and loamy soil aromas and flavors. This full-bodied beauty has plenty of tannin, terrific purity of fruit, no hard edges, and a great finish. Give it a few years. (Drink between 2021-2036)
Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti-Brown) 93 points! "One-hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Latro Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon gives up notions of crushed red and black currants, warm plums and baked cherries with touches of garrigue, dusty soil and bay leaves. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and grainy with lovely freshness and great intensity in the mouth, leading to a long, purely fruited finish.
