John Gilman 94 pts! The 2016 vintage of Clos des Ursules is outstanding. The wine is very, very red fruity in profile this year, which I find very exciting, as this is usually a very black fruity wine out of the blocks. The nose is complex and already quite expressive, jumping from the glass in a blaze of cherries, red plums, gamebird, a very complex base of soil, cedar and a lovely topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is pure, deep and transparent, with its full-bodied format quite seamless and refined. The core is sappy, the soil signature is outstanding and the fine-grained tannins and zesty acids promise a very long and very elegant evolution in bottle. A truly outstanding vintage of Clos des Ursules in the making! (Drink between 2026 - 2075)

Decanter /Wine Advovcate (William Kelley) 93 pts! The Clos des Ursules is excellent in 2016, its pretty bouquet of red and black cherry, orange rind, rich soil and a top note of violets introducing a supple, full-bodied and fine-grained wine with a deep core of fruit, nicely integrated tannins and lovely energy. (Drink between 2022 - 2040)
