Maison Les Alexandrins is the combined efforts of three friends that grew up in heavy-hitting Rhone winemaking and wine-growing families. Nicolas Jaboulet 6th generation of the famed Jaboulet family and head of the Nicolas Perrin label, Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel of Domaine Sorrel, and Alexandre Caso, a Northen Rhone Terroir Specialist. Since 2012 this trio has slowly acquired new parcels, with the original bottles under the Nicolas Perrin Label, but in 2015 was changed to Maison & Domaine Les Alexandrins. The Condrieu comes from Côteau de Cherry and Côteau de Rozay, which are higher elevation sites planted on granite, contributing to this wine's elegance, balance, and freshness. 2016 is a fantastic vintage with a much higher acidity than '15, with an excellent dynamic between richness and energy. A perfect example of Condrieu in 2016, we have some of the only bottles available in the USA at this fantastic pricing; this is not one to miss!
Wine Spectator (James Molesworth) 96 points! "Rich, offering a wide array of creamed pear, yellow apple, peachand apricot flavors stitched with citrus oil and anise notes. Staysenergetic and detailed, with ripples of jasmine, honeysuckle, bitter orange and almond throughout, showing a flash ofminerality buried on the finish. Drink now through 2024"
