One of our favorite addresses in Cornas, Voge, produces some outstanding examples of Syrah from this terrior. One of the top players alongside winemakers like Clape, these are both sourced from old vines, the Chailles 40 years, and the VV 60. Both the vineyards received organic certification three years ago and are also tended to biodynamically. The Chailles is mostly destemmed while the VV sees 20% whole cluster with a higher percentage of new oak, but other than those differences, these wines are made the same way. 2017 is a beautiful vintage in the Northern Rhone, and for these classically structured wines, one can expect them to age for years to come, and compared to some of the other names in Cornas, these are still quite a value.
