EFW 92 pts! Aurelien Verdet's father was one of the pioneers of organic farming in Burgundy. After his retirement in 2005 Aurelien took over the Domaine's 4.5 hectares and made farming agreements with other vineyard holders to broaden his reach. Now with multiple crus under his belt Aurelien Verdet is determined to make a reputation for himself. The 2017’s here are stunning, but very hard to find. The 2017 Bougogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits Rouge is a block buster. It has way more going on than the majority of Bourgogne Rouges do,and drinks more like a great village wine. Aromas of crushed red and blue fruits, violets, liquid minerals, earth, and a touch of spice. Amazing energy, excellent depth, and already showing some wonderful complexity. Drinking great now enjoy this beauty over the next couple years. The ultimate red Burgundy best buy for the connoisseur, and a no brainer for the price!
