One of the key releases of Abruzzo, Valentini, is a legendary figure in this part of Italy. The Valentini family is partly responsible for drawing attention to the wines of Abruzzo, making only three different cuvees and only vinifying in exceptional vintages. The Trebbiano is the white offering from Valentini and is consistently a superb example, proving that the world's best Trebbiano comes from Abruzzo. Valentini's Trebbiano is always spot on, elusive, and subtle at times, backed by a wild complexity and unexpected amount of power. The tension, purity of fruit, profound minerality, and the delicate balance between richness and vibrancy put it on par with some of the best old-world white wines. 2017 will be another fantastic vintage for Valentini, and from the early '17s we've tasted from Northern Italy, it looks stunning.
