While most are on to the 18's, we were able to source some of the '17 vintage after trying a sample recently. This was a big surprise, and usually at this level, you expect a good value but nothing to truly blow you away, and while this isn't jaw-dropping, it is a fantastic bottle of Bourgogne Blanc. We tried this an immediately said, "Mini Meursault." Come to find out 90% of the grapes come from Meursault. The wine has a lovable vibrancy with fresh orchard fruits, floral notes, and a slight nuttiness. It is very long on the palate with a full mouthfeel yet so energetic with a delicious, slightly exotic finale. A such a nice bottle at this level and one of the best Bourgogne Blancs we have come across this year.
Tasting note by Allen Meadows, "A super-fresh, cool and bright nose speaks of various white orchard fruit, floral and discreet citrus wisps. There is both excellent intensity and detail to the middle weight flavors that possess impressive complexity for its level as well as fine length. This is a first-rate Bourgogne and highly recommended."
