2017 Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountains AVA Willamette Valley$24.99
The 2017 vintage was a very Burgundian one for the Willamette Valley. The wines are less ripe, and more elegant than the last few vintages. This is why we like Oregon Pinot Noir, for it can mirror great red Burgundy in a vintage like this! This is a new cuvee from Chehalem Mountians, and at a very fair price point for wine with 100% estate fruit! It’s made to enjoy on the younger side, and will be a great restaurant wine as well. The vineyard this wine is sourced from are Wind Ridge, Ridgecrest, Coral Creek, and Stoller vineyards. The different vineyards really give this wine a diversity of soil types, and a complexity seldomly seen at this price point. The aromatics are blue and red fruits, with a touch of brambly earth, and spice. The palate is dominated by the red fruit flavors, and has soft silky tannins, and a zippy finish. This would make a great holiday party wine and or great gifts! It has some nice press as well a Wine Spectator, and James Suckling 92 pts!
