We have some exceptional pricing here for this incredibly old vine classic from Digioia-Royer. Les Fremieres is a Lieu-Dit that lies below some of the premier crus like Noriots, close to More St. Denis. Winemaker Michel Digioia has a very old vine portion of this vineyard with the vines planted in 1934 and 1935. These old vines give the wine excellent concentration and depth, and though this is a village wine, it easily reaches premier cru heights. This is another insider cuvee that is a great buy for red Burgundy. There excellent complexity to this wine with beautiful Chambolle aromatics; dark fruits, spices, flowers, and earth. Les Fremières is a textbook and exciting Burgundy that fans of the region will enjoy, especially at this pricing.
