Alain Burguet's Gevrey Chambertin Mes Favorites comes from 18 different parcels that were planted between 1910 and 1970. The vineyards have been farmed organically for some time, and he is now converting to bio-dynamic practices. This wine is an amazing bottle for the price, and drinks way above its price point.
Burghound (Allen Meadows) 89-92 points! A softly oaked nose consists of slightly cooler aromas of red currant, newly turned earth, humus and a whiff of the sauvage. There is a bit more volume and mid-palate concentration to the more mineral-inflected flavors that deliver much better depth and persistence on the balanced finale. This is a very good Gevrey villages that is well worth considering. (Drink starting 2025)
