Wine Advocate (Joe Czerwinski) 96 points! "The 2017 Hermitage Cuvee Emilie is sourced largely from les Grandes Vignes, a granitic lieu-dit located above l'Ermite. Aged 15 months in new barriques, the wood is barely noticeable, dominated by powerful cassis and blueberry flavors enhanced by subtle herbal shadings. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with a long, silky finish, this is a top-flight effort that should be drinkable soon, yet easily age for a decade and a half."
Vinous (Josh Raynolds) 93-94 points! "Dark purple. Vibrant, mineral-accented dark berry and floral pastille aromas show outstanding clarity and pick up exotic spice and savory herb elements with air. Juicy and incisive on the palate, offering intense cherry, cassis, vanilla and spicecake flavors that are given spine and tension by an undercurrent of juicy acidity. Finishes supple, smoky and extremely long, displaying resonating minerality and slow-mounting tannins."
